in a nut shell........

My mom got her first brain tumor in Sept. 2003. She has had 4 tumors removed and one reconstructive surgery and 74 treatments of radiation from 2003-2008.All of those tumors were benign (non cancerous). She went all of 2009 tumor free! In October 2009 my mom got the release from her doctors to move back home to Texas and to come back in January for another MRI.  In January they found another tumor on her brain then in February they found several in her lung. They did a biopsy on one of the tumors in her lung which confirmed our worse fears. For the first time...she has cancer. She has been fighting hard but the chemo and cancer are too much for her fragile body to handle. I got a call yesterday that I need to get out there asap. So....that is what i am doing. Please pray for her. I'm would love for her to be cured but I am trying to be realistic....I just don't want her to be in pain anymore. The thought of losing my mom right now hurts so bad that at times it takes my breath away.....

I don't even know where to begin....

SOOO much has happened since my last post. I will keep it short-ish! I am happy to say that yesterday was my last day of school...sort of. I have to go to class from 8am-noon on Saturday for the next four weeks while I am on my externship. I know for sure that I will maintain my 4.0 that I have been carrying for 11 months!!!! YAY ME!!!!! I took my NRCMA (nationally certified medical assistant) exam today. WHEW..so glad to have that done and over with.

I am then going to California to be with my mom for up to a month. She is not good. I can't go to far into it because it is too hard to talk about, all I can do is pray for her. My mom has had a rough 3 weeks. She has been soo ill from her chemo that she cant keep food or water down. She has has a bed sore from sleeping and not having the energy to get out of bed. I have been struggling with starting my externship now or putting it off for a few weeks. She went to the hospital last night and they pumped her full of 3 bags of fluids and now she is feeling a lot better and she has even had an appitite today! That is great. I am going to go ahead and start my externship and if I need to take time off in the middle I will but hopefully she will be strong enough for me to wait a couple of weeks to go out there.

George is great, busy and working in the 100+ degree weather that we have had for the last 21 days is not making it easy. We have Rylee's school meet and greet on Sunday to meet her new teacher. She starts her new class on Monday!!! it is officially time for school to start for her and END for me for a while!!!

That is about it for now............

EKG II

WHEW! I only have 8 more days of classes then I start my externship. THE BEST PART: I got the extern site I wanted. I will be at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Ft. Worth with a Cardiology group!!! I have heard that the do NOT hire but that doesn't bother me. The experience with them will open many doors for me to work in the cardiology world like I want! I have been looking on line and there are many jobs at Cooks Children's Hospital that are open for telemetry positions (monitoring patients that are hooked up to EKG machines) and also at sleep centers, and although the hours would be hard on me at a sleep lab the $$ would be GOOOOD!! Honestly I just want to find a job that I will be happy with because I am verrrrrrry passionate about cardiology, EKGs, and Stress Tests! IT ALL FASCINATES ME!!!! I have some pretty important dates coming up all in one month time!
August 19- last day of classes
August 20- I take my NRCMA certification exam
August 23- I start my Externship...also Rylee's "first" day of school for the Fall Season
Sept 16- should be done with my externship
Sept 17- take my NRCEKG certification exam

Rylee has been doing GREAT! She has been upstairs in her "BIG GIRL" bedroom for about 3 weeks. She, for the most part, has been making it to at least 5am in her bed before quietly surprising us in bed! She was accident free for almost 3 months, but recently at school she was bit on her back which normally wouldn't bother me because things like this happen BUT none of the teachers know how it happened......if you know Rylee and her LOUD screech of a cry you would understand why I am having a hard time believing that. She told me who did it....so that is no question. The day after the bite incident  she had an accident for 3 days in a row. I was so frustrated!!! Rylee and I have worked through that whole thing though........she understands that if she goes potty in her panties she does NOT get a sucker (dumdum) after school. It seems to be working. so fingers crossed we can go another 3+ months without an accident!

My mom has been doing as well as she possibly can with the situation that she is faced with. She is meeting with her proton doctor on the 12th and the 17th with the doctor that will be doing the biopsy on her lung to make the treatment with! I am so excited for her to have this treatment, even if it doesn't work at least we will know that we tried. I have good feeling about it and I know that many, many, many people have been praying for her. Thank you all for your prayers, sweet words and kind thoughts.....you have no idea how much it meant to me.

George has been BUSY BUSY BUSY! He has done a landscape for one of my teachers and is supposed to be doing another one tomorrow for the school librarian. It is nice to have the extra cash but it means that he is working on Saturdays :*(. George's mom is in Japan visiting Kelly, Ridglea and Michael until August 11. On Tuesday this week we had out senior meeting to find out where our extern site would be. Half way through the meeting I got a text from george saying that he was in the hospital. My heart dropped to my stomach fo a second and I thought for sure he might have lost a finger on his pole saw or something along those lines. I got my stuff together and then left school I got to my car and called him, he told me that his DAD was in the hospital and that they thought he had a mini stroke. After being in the hospital for about a day and a half and mannnnny tests later they let him go home. He has to maintain his diet a little better and take blood pressure meds and take it easy . THANK GOD IT WAS NOTHING SERIOUS!!!!!

The temperature (yes I believe the temperature deserves its own paragraph in this post) has been above 100 for the last 6 days and is it is supposed to stay this way for at least another 7!!!  We have been spending as much time in the water as possible. So far this year Texas has had the coldest Winter, wettest Spring and HOTest Summer. I am not a big fan of this much heat. IS 75-80 degrees year round tooooo much to ask for!?!?!?-JUST SAYIN!

getting splashed by daddy
jumping in to get daddy for splashing her

then getting tossed into the air....this process went on for about 20 minutes straight with her asking to go higher each time

Rylee enjoying a dip in the pool! This is her excited face! She was touching the bottom :( she is so tall!

such a big girl.....she looks naked but she was just topless! She loves the big "dinosaur" ;)

Good morning Sunshine!

thinking about waking up....not sure if she is ready yet.

Thanks you Grandma! She loves her PONYO doll! (incase you dont know....Rylee thinks she IS ponyo)

That is about it for now..............
